cheap sensory toys

Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

i guess all you can do is try, the members you have so far are all open and welcoming to new ppl and we are a country that have problems with people from our own countries Big Grin so dont think we would have problems with other countries joining and if they start trying to start a them and us feeling then giving a warning will prob be enough and if not you are good at getting rid of troublemakers quick enough and if it doesnt work you can close it to out of country applicants.
personally i think its a great compliment that a relatively new site is getting ppl from other countries wanting to join after reading what the members are like and the support they give to each other and at the end of the day they are parents of disabled children who are looking for support themselves and at same time try and help others

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Im deeply unsure.
My heart says lets include everybody but my forum admin head is saying dont do it.
As it may present some major issues such as:
  • Increased spam memberships (Which would be very hard to monitor)
  • Trouble from members who maybe are not used to the British way of life
  • Advice would not be relevant and members from other parts of the world may offer the incorrect advice
  • If we open up the forum to all then would language barriers become a concern? (Could we legally force people to speak English)

So whilst the ideal world would see countries such as America come onto the site and offer medical tips what about countries where the whole system varies from a to b?
I am wondering if its a problem in the making which could in turn drive away our exsisting members? Huh

just seen this thread and wondered if it was possible to maybe link up with a similar site in another country such as america, canada, australia etc. (i totally appreciate it could be loads of hard work) or just have a international section. i recently joined the australian (we were thinking about immigrating and i just wanted some feedback about the set up of the health system and what support there is there) site connected to my son's condition and found out loads on new research thats being done in that country which i never knew of. also as it's a rare syndrome there's not a lot of stuff out there so it was nice to speak to people who were going through something similar but have a different point of view as there healthcare system etc is different
