Hello and Welcome to Parents of Disabled children.
We at parents of disabled children value each and every member and respect each members thoughts and views.
We were told by a few members they were not sure how to use the forum so we thought we would compile a useful guide on how to use the Parents of disabled children forum.
I also ask if any members have any questions on using the forum feel free to respond to this post or feel free to send me a private message.
Instructions on how to do this will be detailed in this post.
So lets start:
How to register to use Parents of disabled children.
You can register your account very simply and you will be posting on the forum in no time.
To register your account simply
Once you have registered to use the site and you have your username and password you can then login to your account
How to login to your account
To login to account it can be done in two ways either using the box at the top of the page below the parents of disabled children logo image or to the left hand of the page at the side of the page.
If you have forgotten your password you can request your password be sent to you by email.
To request your password to your account be sent to you by email you can do this by
Right so your logged into your account there are now a few things you can do but i suggest you change your profile and personalise your profile
To personalise your account you need to click on USER CP at the top of the page below the Parents of disabled children logo.

On the User CP you will see various options these are:
Messenger
This is the section where you can control any messages you may have recieved from any of the members of the forum.
It is also the section in which you can send a message to another member.
You need 6 or more posts in order to send a private message.
Your Profile
To manage your profile we have several options all of which are pretty self explainatory.
You can change your username
Change your password
Change your email
You also have two other options
Change Avatar-
This is the image or photo that displays when you make a post its a great way of personalising your account.
Once you click this you have a simple way of uploading your photo by clicking the BROWSE button in grey or by linking to an image URL.
Edit Signature
This is text that displays below your forum posts some people like to use signatures to tell people about there child with information such as there childs name and diagnosis.
Other people like to display random text such as poems or short text snippets it really is upto you.
All we ask is that they do not link to websites that are promoting a business or self promotional venture.
So now your profile is now personalised you can now go onto join in on the forum and make some posts.
How to start a new thread on the forum
Starting a new thread is a way to post a message to other members.
For example if you were looking to start a thread and were seeking benefit advice you would click on the relevant section on the
When you have found the relevant section you will notice a Blue button called New thread these appear at the top of the forum boxes and towards the bottom of the forum boxes.
Once you click this you will be able to post a thread.
Next thing is how to post a reply
Right so you have seen a post and you would like to make a reply to that post but wondering how?
Below each post you will see several options these are:
Reply-
Click this button if you want to reply to a particular post and you will be taken to a new page in which you will be able to post a reply.
Thank
If you have found a particular post useful please click the THANK button as this is a way to let the member know you found that post useful.
Report
If you see a post that is offensive or is a message containing spam we kindly ask you click the report button so that a moderator or admin can take action to remove the offensive post.

Click on the browse button and then select the image from your computer once done click open and then it willl bring you back to the avatar screen and then click the button in grey to proceed and save the avatar.
