got a friend who i think has some degenerative spine problems and she has had the steroid injections as she was talking a painkiller (cant remember name of top of head) but they had given her the wrong dose so she became addicted so they had to get her off them and it did help a bit but she seems to be doing really well with a tens machine as she is on her feet all day as a hairdresser and this enables her to do it with only copable pain. she got hers from the hospital but lloyds sell them for about £15 i think so might be worth a try

you are a fan of mandm and have not checked out their velcro trainers?? i have had puma ones amongst a few others over the years and you can get slip on boots that look good without aging you too. must admit you talk like a couple of old men anyway so perhaps grandad slippers would suit you better 44

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

I think its more the frustation than the pain that really gets to me.
Not being able to run after the Children when needed or just go and do a household job like i used to.
And sometimes i just feel a burden on Lucy as she does so much already and i hate having to ask her to bend down and pick something up for me,its just the little things i miss being able to do.
Have you ever had any steriod injections and did this help at all?
Ill try anything just to relieve 10% of the pain and avoid a hip replacement as long as possible.

I dont really want surgery either Daniel but there comes a point when it's the best choice. I have had several different pain relief/anti inflamatory treatments in tablet and patch form but I dont want any local jabs, if anyone's going stab me with a syringe then it'll be a pre-med before they replace my broken bits Smile
I hate having to ask for help in the house as well but I have 3 well trained Jack Russells who will pick up almost anything I have dropped and if it's not edible I have some chance of getting it brought to me, I still manage to hoover and mop (slowly) but we have a cleaner once a week who also does ironing ( I used to send ironing out anyway so this is easier)
I miss wearing lace-up shoes and trainers, I have old geezer slip-on shoes and wellies now.................. at 44 years old!

Told you I'm a chatter box44

I have the Children as well for the pass that to daddy please............Big Grin
Im currently on Diclofenac,Co-Codamol,Oramorph,Zoromorh(Think thats the name) and Lansorazale.
Strong stuff that also leaves me awake until the small hours and very tired the next day and it feels like they dont work as im still in pain but then i realise they help a little if i forget to take a dose and im in agony!!!
Shoes i just slip mine on and get the laces tucked in.....
And im bloody 26....ConfusedBlush
Oh the joys....
But im seriously considering the jabs as a option just to see if they can give me some pain relief.
Dont know about you but another frustrating thing i find is i occasionally have a slight good half day and i think maybe it will start to ease up,kidding myself i suppose and then it hits with avengance.
So i go from a jolly chap in the morning to a grumpy old geezer on the night which most likely comes across as mood swings....Blush

26? I was just becomming a daddy at that age......... you did start early Wink
That's also quite a list of meds but I have a very similar list, one that has helped since being added is Naproxen tabs at night, I can get sort of comfortable enough to doze for a while so it's a bonus for now.
I am Ok ish most mornings and still manage to walk the horses from stable to field after they have had breakfast and can still throw a ball for the dogs using a grabber to get it back to throw again. Cat litter is one thing I dont miss cleaning Smile our weekly lady has that wonderful job and with 5 cats and a 60 litre poop tray she must have cast iron guts or no sense of smell at all!
I can understand the 'mood swings' ........ I usually stay in the kitchen with the PC and my friendly fridge, usually one or the other will provide a smile Smile

I am thinking of a Tens machine soon as someone else recommended it, not so much for bone pain as the muscular cramps and such that accompany it with these type of things.
And I dont have grandad slippers, I have a 15 year old pair of beach sandals Tongue

Naproxen was one of the first things they tried with me and didnt touch the sides.
But as i said no medication is relieving the pain at all....Which is frustrating!!!
Have you done physio at all?
I was expecting a massage and she told me to bring shorts next week so she could show me some bleeding excercises....
Nearly said like what POLE VAULT WITH MY CRUTCHES..... Big Grin
