Statements..What are they and how they needed/used??
Sorry to sound daft but as title says realy?
What is a statement?
How is it needed/used?
Does every child in school require a statement? (even in nursery?)
Whats it mean when your child is statemented?
How do i go about getting my child statemented if its something every disabled child requires?
Helppp

RE: Statements..What are they and how they needed/used??
Thanks for that Lucy, i know abit more about that now lol.

Dont actualy know if school is in the process of this or what not for us though as we have 3monthly reviews with the school and they give us a task sheet (cant think of the title whilst its not in front of me) but it states Sams needs and what they are doing to try reach the goal etc?
But unsure if it will lead to being statemented as he currently been held back a year in school (should be in reception but currently in full time nursery) with a 1-1 support worker.
Suppose we shall find out what will be happening with Sam towards teh end of the school year. x

I think the school usually try school action and school action plus before a full statement, you could always ask them. It might be and indipendant education plan (iep) that your on about that he has. Do you know what they plan to do when reception time comes if hes not ready to go up again??
