Tracye,

it all depends what type of wheelchair youre after and how supportive your chair needs to be. Ebay is a great place to start for second hand or even new chairs. Sometimes companies sell their demonstration wheelchairs at greatly reduced prices, you can get a bargain sometimes if youre lucky.

Good luck, v

Can you get a grant or contact manufactuers. We went to the Mobility Roadshow earlier in the year and were asking about electric wheelchairs and one manufacturer we spoke to said there's no problem getting funding for children's wheelchairs. So try approaching the manufacturers.

Hi are you still looking for a wheelchair, I have an excellent one that I bought for my son but ironically as soon as I bought it wheelchair services got one for him. It was £1800 new. I bought it from that user, a few months later, so it has hardly been used. I am sure we could work out a price in budget.
I will attach photo. Best wishes Ian
