We have a 2 year old with quad cp. she's been fitted for a tomcat trike and the quote is £1500.

Usually we buy all our daughters equipment, but as £1500 is quite a lot of money, a friend offered to run a charity night and raffle to benefit three local children for equipment. It won't cover the cost, but is a gesture to help.

Another good friend of mine has made it clear that we shouldn't benefit from money raised money this way as we could (not easily, but at a stretch) pay ourselves as we have done with everything else so far.

I'm feeling now like perhaps we should have declined the offer to have a contribution towards the equipment. I'm feeling very much like a fraudulent beggar right now and I'd like the thoughts of you guys to see if you think I should give any money raised back.

Thank you.
