ok here goes,
is there any benefits we can claim if mark gives up his job? we are having a few problems at the moment with matt and mark is getting close to a breakdown, he is late for work (only 5/10 mins) which is worrying him. not getting sleep because matt was attacking me last night might be getting close to the straw that broke the camels back, he cant keep burning the candle at both ends he is exhausted, at least i can rest a bit in the day.
sorry will finish this later

Hi hun,
Im guessing your getting working tax credits at the mo?
However if mark was to leave work the working tax would obviusly stop, and they may then put you both onto income support as he had to quit due to matts illness, otherwise it would be job seekers allowence, were he would need to go in every 2weekly to sign on and they will mither him to go back to work.
Also if ur in a rented accomidation, and both on IS or JSA you would be entitled to housing and council tax benefit (they will probs pay all rent and ctax) and obvuisly you would be on DLA, Careres, Mobility (which ever you get now)
Hope this helps xx

hi Lea
we only get about £25 a week working tax credits, the only thing worrying me is if he quits his job he wont be allowed to claim jsa for 6 months, he wont go to the docs and get signed of with stress as he doesnt want to go back to work with a "mental health problem" idiot,
i dont get income support because marks working so dont know anything about that. it wouldnt be a problem for him to made to go back to work its just having to start at 8am is difficult when you dont get to sleep before 1am so a job where he can start later but still be at home at a reasonable time would be better for him but he has been working at same place for 18 yrs so not really confident to move on.

Erm...
Is there no chance he could go part time with hes works place and possibly start later or do less days to take off a bit of stress?
its either that or get the doctor to sign him off work with stress, and go into the local job centre and apply for IS as this sick note will back ur application to say it is effecting ur husbands life and job etc.
Otherwise they may just put him on JSA and dont think he would be able to claim for 6weeks.

(Income support is abit more than JSA and just go streight into bank and doesnt need to keep going sining on etc) this will also entitle you to free prescriptions, dental etc..
