Well after waiting 5 months to hear the decision on Seliona's annual review, we finally got the letter today telling us that they are not going to move her to a special school. This is the 2nd year they have said no to us, but this year we had more evidence, and the school even admitted to us that they are finding it harder to cope with her. It doesnt tell us how to appeal or anything, and our parent partnership woman hardley ever replies to phone calls and emails, so im stuck as to what to do next, we want her moved, we will not accept a no again, so any advice would be much apprecieated :-)

Have you been to the school of your choice and made sure its the right place for your child and also that there is a place for your child. Sometimes LA say no because they know that there is no placement at the special school and if they admit that your child needs a specialist placement it will cost them more to send out of county placement. Just collect your evidence and appeal it sounds scarry but it is not as bad as you first think. When you get your annual review forms back there should be an attached letter explaining your rights to appeal. Parent partnership can be slow to help (not always) but when you think about it its the LA who pay there wage so help from them is very limited. The appeals process is very helpful they even send you a dvd explaining how it works it sounds like you have nothing to loose by giving it a try. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Hi, thanks for the replies, yes she was refused a place at the school we wanted to change her to. We went to look around a while ago as well as looking at a couple of other places and we loved this particular school, it is exactly what she needs, where as the others we have looked at were not quite what she would need, although they were better than where she is now. Ive been looking around and found a couple of other schools which i might go and look at as they look quite nice, but parent partnership woman has finally got in contact and is coming tomorrow afternoon so im going to talk to her and see what she says. Im definatly going to appeal though :-)
