I have been told that my son is to have a nurse as an escort on his school transport due his normal escort can not adminster is rescue medication if he has a seziure. It has come about due to him having a nasty seziure just before he left school and his consulant was concerned that the escort could not adminster his rescue med if in transit which the LA confrimed. The La won't train the escort but will pay for a nurse. I was wondering if this is a general rule in other LA won't allow the escorts to administer rescue medication or not?

No this is the rule - my daughter has very frequent seizures and uses rescue med -but they are not aloud to administer it .
We decided to transport her to school and back home to make sure she is safe .

Really feel for you - this rule is just stupid and so wrong
