So then with all the talk of statements and so forth in a school enviroment, i dont believe we have yet had a discussion about childcare for children under school age.

Do people have babysitters or use nursery places and what have your experiences been of these?

We did send Euan to a private nursery for a year and pulled him out because his needs were not being met which is ashame because i imagine there are many great private nurseries who provide excellent childcare.
Did your nursery or baby sitter charge you extra?, as the law does actually allow this.

How did you deal with letting go or would you not in a million years never let go?

What are your views on childcare prior to school age?

chloe as respite but in a child minding setting it took us a long hard slog as she had to be trained to feed, change her micky make sure she new or could tell when chloe was going blue and stops breathing and she as a movement disorder and she had to know how to deal with it. but we love our carers now and chloe loves being round the average childSmile.

but we are struggling with nursery portage is help us with a statement and before chloe can go into a setting they have to have further training so we thinking of leaving her with child minder until school!

Did the childminder charge you more than children without special needs and had they had previous experience of working with special needs?

arghh yes she does, its double pay , but our social service now pay for 9 hours for us and and Barnsley choices pay for 3 hours so we only pay for 3 hours Smile and yes she did have a boy with sn but nothing like chloe. she did say after all the training it may not be for her, but like i say shes fantastic , she knows chloe so well now intact she a big help with telling the peads what she seen, such as before christmas chloe speech became slurred and she sounded like she was speaking a different language , was great she picked it up to tell our pead it was not just us that noticed which helped as it looks like a seizure going on in her head.

Are you entitled to tax credits because if so you could use the child care element to help pay a large percentage of these 3 hours??
