Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Well how grown up is my little fella?!! Yesterday we went to an induction for his new special needs playgroup and today he starts mainstream preschool!

I so know I'm going to cry a river lol Blush

The group we visited yesterday is brand new and he is one of 5 children that will be attending. The groups main aims is to focus on helping the Children with their difficulties in communication, turn taking, being part of a group etc, and it teaches all the things that mainstream doesn't

It is based at one of our local childrens centres and he will be going every monday for a couple of hours in the atfernoon, so more time for me to catch up with the housework/ RnR Disappear

Disappear Yay he loved both groups!! The special needs nursery nurses are going to let his other one know what they are doing so they can keep consistent, as that is what he needs. He really enjoyed himself. I was worried that becase he is autistic, he would be on his own and the other Children wouldn't play with him, but it wasn't the case at all, the other Children were lovely with him. He had a little girl following him about showing him all the toys and generally doing a "meet n greet" lol Trust him to pull on his first day!!! That's his father's charm
