i saw her yesterday and my grandma was with me just for extra support really, and she asked her what if any disabilitys charlie will have when he grows up and she said hes going to have some form of disability (she asked if i was ok with her answering the question as i wnt ask things like that) but since i actually heard this ive been feelin weird since i think deep down i always knew it but to be told is a diffrent matter x

i couldnt even re-pass his tube this afternoon he wont stop screaming so had 2 call out comm nurses who then started lookin at him n said he looks like he needs splints on his legs which to me is another step back
and then 1 of my friends who has a son the same age as charlie n she was sayin how she wishes her son was like charlie still like a baby n not crawling etc which just annoyed me, y wud u want ur baby to be delayed in development and not feed??? i know im proberly readin more into this than what she meant but im just very sensative, and to top things off my ex keeps lying to me about child benefit and how he should be on it etc

im sorry if im sounding ungrateful but just having a bad few days

aww becky, its hard when you first get told that your child will have a disability but nobody knows what will happen in the future or what level the problems will be at and going on what you have had to cope with so far i think you will manage great at whatever is thrown at you
there are children without disabilites that have had splints when young and have no further problems, they arent fun but it will mean his legs/hips grow properly and it doesnt worry them
it was a bit insensitive of your friend but sounds like she has been running around trying to keep a crawling baby safe and was just wishing for the days when they just sit in their bouncy chair smiling at you "hmmmmmm dreams" lol not the best person to say it to though lol
why should your ex be on child benefit??? it is paid to the person who is the main parent to pay for things like food/nappies and whatever not to buy a pint in the pub. sorry to be rude but he is not much more than a doner as to have rights of a parent he needs to start acting like one and that still does not afford him the right to your Children benefit money, i surprised he not asking for a share of the dla

awww becky sorry ! but the doctors dont really know how he will grow up, i know children who was told they would never walk, but did, so please try and stay positive !!!!
