cheap sensory toys

Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

progress report re: respite
cheapsensorytoys
went for a tea time visit last night with matt, it was going well although we werent supposed to be there we were not told of anyone who was going to be looking after matt so we ended up staying, he had a look around and seemed happy but once the other full time Children went off to their activities (swimming, shopping) he started getting antsy and hitting me and mark, we left the room for a few mins after he had stopped hitting but all they did was draw with him so i went back in and said i was taking him home. he was happy for the rest of the night even singing along to reet petite in car hehe. phoned up this morning to be told they felt it was a positive meeting!! said i didnt agree but we are trying it again in a couple of weeks as matt on hols next week and they are picking him up and after tea will be taking him on an activity so he is not left at the home when all other Children are out so will hopefully be a better day, found out i know one of the workers as spoke to her at gym today and she would be great working with matt think she could do with one that doesnt take chunks out of her arm eek.

also got a letter from manager of childrens services stating that the respite they are supplying at the private unit is for this year and that we will not be getting our respite back dated so we will have lost 40 nights respite because our social worker says "well you have had outreach instead taking him out for 4 hours a fortnight" she says i can appeal and make a complaint if i am not happy with the result, making it sound like its our fault he lost the respite not the fact they messed around for nearly a year. so yeah i not happy but dont know what i can do about it now after 3 social workers in last year

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
