Hi i am looking to join some groups for special needs or visual impairment children. I dont know anyone with a child with a disabilty and im would love to get to know other people.

Mummy to a very special little girl with Septo optic dysplasia, Diabetes Insipidus, Adrenal supressant and Infantile spasms.

Hi, I'm in Edinburgh, I don't really know much about groups and stuff, the only thing I know about and go to sometimes is "The Yard" which is "a purpose built indoor and outdoor play facility and adventure playground for children and young people with additional support needs". It's pretty basic, but good, it also has a sensory room, some soft play, books, big outdoor playground and a little kitchen room for the parents for making tea/coffee. Me and my son haven't been for a while, he's not into socialising much lol but usually try go in the summer.

Although I've just noticed your pic of your little girl and she's probably too young for an adventure playground! Blush

Lol yeah shes too small for an adventure playground but the sensory room sounds good. I think i know where this is is it at cannonmills? do you have to pay? x

Yeah it's at cannomills, you don't have to pay to get in, they accept donations, even a couple of pound, but you don't have to and no one ask you for money! There's a box next to the sign in book. If you do plan on going, deffinitely give them a call/check online because some sessions are booked just for specials schools or other things.

I called them they said its for age 3 and up so i got a while before i can take my wee one lol. x
