Mobility Element of DLA
cheapsensorytoys
Hi
Noah is currnetly getting DLA, Middle rate care component. When I origionally applied he was only 4 so the mobility element wasnt taken into account.
My question is whether I should risk having his claim reassessd in the "hope" that he can get the mobility element? I am fully aware (and this is what puts me off right now) that they could in fact lower his care element or scrap it Confused
I know for a fact that for a child his age (almost 5 1/2) that he is a danger to himself and others when out and about. No awareness of danger (traffic or otherwise) and god forbid he ever wandered as he could not even tell someone his name let alone where he lived. Plus the whole stranger danger aspect.
Is it worth it?
Obv the extra money would be a god send to Noah and us as a family but I cant afford to lose any either.....

I know how you feel. We are about to the mobility forms for our daughter who is nearly 3. When the application pack came through it had all the forms for DLA so I rang the DWP. They told me that if you wanted to be reviewed for the self care to fill those bits in but if there was no changes and you were happy with the band you were on just do the mobility form. My daughter is also on middle band and nothing has changed greatly so I'm just doing the mob form. Hope that helps x
