Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Help Members feedback please
cheapsensorytoys
Hi,
We are due to upgrade some features but to allow us to upgrade the features we need to conduct some design changes.

This time though when we conduct the design changes you as a member will not have to accept the design changes if you prefer the forum as it is....
We will have whats known as a theme changer on the site so you can choose if you want the new style design or the one members are currently used to.

In the new design option we will have this will have a few more features so members may prefer the new style but as always some people may not like change so its upto you.

But basically wanted to know is there anything in the "design" element you would like?
Is there something in the current design that bugs you and needs fixing?
Some people say the banner up top is not in sync with the page and this is being addressed its just on my laptop it sits nicely but apparently on others it dont something to do with screen resolution but its being fixed Smile

Are members happy with the background of the site or is it too loud? Stay or go?

Boxes down the side stay or go or move to the right hand side? (Ive moved them for today to see what people think)

The logo is being reworked to become more modern as i think the current logo has outgrown us Blush

Facebook intregration is more feature rich and members linking there profiles can click login and be logged into there account easily Smile

We will be looking at new features in terms of:

1) A detailed section on useful guides of being a parent of a disabled child
2) We are looking at a Wiki style thing so parents can provide parents info on a condition.
3) A more comprensive feature list which i will add later

Some exciting changes are afoot and we need your feedback Smile

Constructive feedback please Smile

Decided to go live with the new look Smile
I really hope people like the look as a lot of late night work has gone into this Smile
Previously when we have added new features they have been added to work alongside the current backend system but the system needed a real big clean up and to basically start from scratch to ensure the forum could continue to work well.
Also some members fed back they felt things were a little cluttered and as such we wanted to ensure the forum felt smooth and was easy on the eye.

For those members who may prefer the previous design dont worry Smile
We havent just changed it over and left you out in the cold Big Grin
You can access the old style forum by rolling to the bottom of the forum and you will see a drop down box which reads SELECT THEME.
If you select the ORGINAL theme from the drop down system it will allow you to revert back to the older style if you so wish.

The new system here allows us to adapt and make changes easily and increase the features we have.

There are a few new features which i will list and get them all up here as soon as i can get them into a list Smile

In the meantime people Smile

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me your thoughts Smile
