Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Okay - so we thought Jack might like to try it outside in the snow tonight - he slipped, was caught from a full fall by daddy though wouldn't stop crying and wouldn't put his left foot down - so we took him up to A&E at Hull Royal Infirmary.

We thought we'd be there for hours but was seen, x-rayed and hald pot put on left leg within 2 hours - it's a miracle. The nurses were lovely and Jack was a little star - though a bit bewildered by his new legwear!! x

Thank you both. We've been back to HRI this morning and Jack now has a full plaster cast on his left leg. He has a 'greenstick' fracture and we're told it'll prob be healed in about 4 weeks.

Full marks again to the Dr and nurses at the Infirmary. When we saw the Dr I told him Jack was autistic and has hypotonia so was finding the situation a bit hard to understand and the Doc was brilliant and made sure he was seen in a matter of minutes. The nurses who did the cast were really great with him and were talking to him all the time to keep him calm - which he was. We're so proud of him! He was knackered when we got home and is now fast asleep on our bed. x
