Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

ipad for special needs?
cheapsensorytoys
Hi, no it just covers the side! Not sure how to post links but if you goggle fisher price iPod holder you should find it. I think they sell them in argos! Would a protective screen help or there might still be a chance dribble getting in through the sides? Maybe it would be something to use later on? X

Think this is what you are talking about http://www.play.com/Toys/Toys/4-/2182596...5bee3ae086

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Would I be better getting a second hand one? Or is it possible to get a grant towards one?

Have you had a look on the Android web store to see if they have similar apps? If they have you can get tablets running android for a quarter of the price of an ipad. As you'd expect from the price they won't be a s slick as the ipad but would they be suitable for what you want?
