cheap sensory toys

Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Karen, do you get any support from your family?? My inlaws used to look after Calum for me when I worked, but when he got his diagnosis I decided to give up work because he was getting too much for them, (their elderly). They will look after him for a few hours but not overnight, wouldn't expect them to.

My mum's good with him, she would take him all the time if she could LOL. He's a handful though and his behaviour and tantrums have got worse as he's getting older. Saying that we've not had much of a social life either.

Our life is appointments, appointments, appointments. This month alone we've had endless appointments coz its his pre-school year, looking at schools, Psych, etc....

Do you get any outside support??

I need a large one 54

i dont get much family support as to taking the boys for a few hours noo, but i know my mums on the other end of the phone, the only respite we have got is sense scotland for Matthew (my youngest) and shared care for Daniel (my oldest) only.

our social worker is coming out tomorrow. I think i put my mum off from looking after them because we went away on holiday when we just had daniel, she looked after him and it was only me n hubby that went well she had a terrible time with him.
surely we are entitled to more than this
