Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

rents are never reduced here have known houses to remain on the market months

OH cant reduce hours it is set hrs for everyone he keeps looking for other jobs but there is nothing for the right hrs and right money

i guess its a case of waiting and hoping a suitable house comes up before a care order is made

The key thing is you say the right hours or right money.
I would really consider reducing income and looking at top ups with tax credits and housing benefit.
I know its a tough choice.
Before my son was diagnossed with his condition i ran 2 businesses and was turning over a nice sum but when he was diagnossed we had to make sacrafices and changes and yes it was hard but i had to make that choice.

We moved from an affluent area into a normal area and pay cheaper rents and have far less income.
But believe me the time i have now to dedicate to my Children and my sons appointments is great.
Less money but my house is cheaper and my bills are less so when i sit and work it all out im not much worse off.
As bad as it sounds i feel now is the time for tough sacrafices for you and social services have to support you in what you do because as it stands there is no real way forward and social services could remove your child which is the last thing you want.
What is it your hubby does and could he not become self employed?

The annoying thing is that the council have a legal obligation to help you as you are legally over crowded and this poses a health and safety risk.
Have you contacted your local Mp?
