Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Housing
cheapsensorytoys
Hi i live with my husband and four children. We live in a private let.Our OT wrote the our landlord and asked if we could do adaptions to the house ,as Matthew has right side hemiplegia and is visually impaired. To our surprise he said Yes.Which will make his life so much easier.

Our local council gave us medical points ( group B 120 ). As we need our own home as the lanlord agreed to some but not all adaptions. So i went to the counil and asked how long it would be for us to be housed. And was told it could but upto 15 years lol. I was told we are not a priorty and would have to wait our turn.

As Matthew has trouble walking and seeing we need alot done.Has anyone else had these problems being housed??

Anyone any advice?? We are also down on all housing ass list aswell.Been waiting for 5 years
