hi ive had the disabiled facility grant assessment which a surveyer come to see what adaptions we needed for our 4 yr old so we showed him round explaining what would help my son be more independent etc but after he told us that the house was not suitable for the adaptions needed he said he would put this in wrighting to us. so how can we get the council to move us either to a property big enough for the adaptions or to one of the many new build lifetime homes being built. we have sent letters from all the doctors from gos who treat him and ot report also stating that he we will need to be moved to more suitable accomadation but the council still havent changed his band c dsl3

There are many ways to apply pressure to the council when it comes to getting a move, the best and most successful I have found has been by using a specialist housing adviser from your local area as they will know exactly who to get in touch with and how to present your case, whereabouts are you ? Shelter are usually excellent but in areas where they dont have a local office it can be advisable to use a CLS solicitor who specialises in housing issues.

you can google shelterline and either phone their advice line or there is a centre close to you called Threshold Housing Advice Centre who are at 126 Uxbridge Road, London W12 8AA Telephone -020 8749 2925.
As with a lot of London and the South-East, councils are often swwamped with applications and very can fail in their duties due to the weight of demand for housing.
That doesnt give them an excuse though, there are ways and means of them getting you rehoused and a professional adviser will explain that to them.
You wont need to do very much more now as once they take your case they will ask you to leave all contact to them........ too much paperwork frying around from different sources confuses por housing officers
