Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Just wondered if anyone who lives in a council property has had permission to put a conservatory up? We are in desperate need of more space!!

don't know about the rules on a council property, but for the one we have we didn't need planning concent as it was within a certain size. It's not classed as a permanent building so the rules are a bit easier to bend.
Where do you live?? We are selling ours soon, at a very reasonable price as we are having an extension built in its place.
Also have you not considered getting a DFG? We are having a downstairs bedroom and bathroom at the back of the house, and a drive way, ramp and porch on the front. You can have these wether you own the house or not.

We are in powys.
We are on the council list for a bigger house but they just dont have anything, neither do the housing associations!
We are desperate now as there are 7 of us living in a small 3 bed house!
They have been around to look at adapting it, but its not looking sucessful as there is so much work that needs to be done!

Is there room to have a static caravan craned in? you can get reasonable ones delivered and installed for a few hundred quid ......... maybe an ideal thing if you have teens who want privacy Smile
