Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

I really hope you do get some form of diagnosis so you can get help for little charlie and hopefully he will be able to thrive in the future. Its difficult when your trying to work it out for yourself, i read tones of stuff when euan was awaiting diagnosis but i totally never expected the one that i got and that was very hard. Even though you know your childs ill it still feels like one day you have a 'normal' child and the next the have a disability Sad and i have to say it did feel a bit like i was grieving for the child i didnt have afterwards but with support you do get through it. Especially after they get the help they need and start to improve Smile .

Its hard when they are very young aswell because you kind of wonder what the future holds and what you will both have to go through. Is there any sort of diagnosis that you are expecting ? have they ever given any indication ? Euan was a total mystery to the doctors until they did a urine sample that showed pretty much everything that went in was being wee'd straight back out !!

I so hope you get some answers tomorrow, we will be thinking of you

xx
