I was a stammerer in my early school years and boy was that a long time ago! It can still happen now occasionally when tired, is he sleeping OK? I remember having to have very strict bedtimes and reading rather than watching TV ...... the other thing was singing, the doctor prescribed joining the choir, something to do with script and breathing.... I bet there are far more effective modern ways to help stammerers nowadays but it worked Ok for me. Smile

hi lucy,my eldest has had a stammer since he could speak and he is now 7.he has had speech therapy until the school ran out of funding and did a course by michael palin and it has improved slightly.he also gets frustrated trying to get the words out but not as much as people trying to finish the sentence for him! we find it is worse if he is excited or angry as he tries to speak faster but we just wait for him to finish.
hope you get a good speech therapist who can help.x
