We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Maclaren Major
cheapsensorytoys
Euans physio and doctor requested that Euan was granted a maclaren major two weeks ago and we were told it was going to be a "Long wait" and were informed how bad Birmingham Wheelchair services can be.
Well Lucy phoned today to check they recieved the application and they processed the application straight away and have granted the maclaren major already Smile
They said they were waiting for them to recieve it and as soon as they do they will send it out.
Lucy phoned so never asked for an estimated time frame.
Just wondering if anybody could tell me how long they waited from being accepted?

it took me a whole month, however it is taking me 4 months already to wait for another wheelchair, as my son is already growing out of the maclarens major buggy! if u use buses they ARE classed as a wheelchair!! as they are tailored to ur childs additional need!!!

i think it is because they need to assess and make sure it is adequate for your child!! as for the buses i spoke to stagecoach who is my local bus company and spoke to them saying that i am having to put my buggy down as there is another buggy on the low-floor bus already, however my buggy is tailored for his special need and NOT for convenience!! and i now have a priority pass for all stagecoach buses, (and it really does work!!) so maybe it is worth having a word with your local transport steering group within the council, and ur councilor!! i am glad u got my user name, my carer made it up for me!! i would never have figured it out!! lol

The assesment phase has been completed now but we are just waiting for delivery so was wondering how long this would usually take from the moment of being accepted and the pushchair ordered?
