Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Just a quick wee message to warn people with this pushchair. If you have a child that is very strong and likes to kick out please make sure you ALWAYS have the footplate on. Nicole has had 3 major's in 6 months because she kept breaking the join under the plate (don't know what its called). Also it can be easily tipped backwards.

Nicole has now been given a wheelchair, it only took a few weeks from the order to delivery which we weren't expecting, hopefully she won't break this one.

I have a few friends at Maddie's nursery (she goes to a special needs one) who said they weren't happy with the tipping backwards of the Major so that's why I went in with an open mind when the wheelchair services offered us a Blade Wheelchair, and we love it, the only concern I have is sometimes on a bus Maddie wants to come out of the wheelchair and sit with me, which is fine, but then the wheelchair has a mind of its own without her weight in it and rolls around so I have to fold it and either put it on the luggage rack or lay it on the side, but that's no major biggie.

Keep us posted with how long you're having to wait Daniel. Smile
