How to handle the biting
cheapsensorytoys
Hi i'm new here and would like to ask if anyone's child is a biter ? My son is 26 months and just got all his teeth now , he puts everything to his mouth , but his biting me is getting worse , he doesnt do it out of bad temper , he does it when he is happy . He doesnt understand that it hurts as he doesnt feel much pain and even bites himself , my shoulders are covered in brusies with him and now he is starting to pull my hair lol , he has only learnt to crawl a bit . Has anyone found a good way of tryin to get their child to stop it or even calm it down a bit . many thanks

hi! and welcome to the forum! my sons 3 1/2 and a biter, he stopped for a while but has gone back again, its tough as hes doing it out of happiness or excitement, my son does it out of anger Sad its mainly me and his sister that get it.

When he was younger and his understanding was poorer (its still poor now but has improved a little) we used to put him down every time he did it, so if we were playing and he bit it would stop. I also learn to kind of see when it was coming, if he was getting really hyped up and over excited i would try to calm him a little before he actually bit, it didnt work every time but did help a little Smile

xx
