Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

hi i had to leave my son on his own for 2 days as he was transferred to a hospital 60 miles away and i had a raging infection after my c-section i had no family close by.my husband had to look after my older two and it absolutely ripped me apart not being there with him.even now every admission is a choice between my children.we don't have a car and my husband works full time it is just us to look after the Children.its the hardest thing to do.

i never stay with jacob anymore, a year straight on a pull out bed can do that to you, i stay all day but never overnight anymore, also logan needs me at home too, i hate it but when you have another small child and are on your own there is often no other choice, especially when you know discharge is weeks, maybe months away.....
really glad you are home though :-D

Sophie not too happy, she's not able to lay flat on her belly like she use to when sleeping and she's having trouble rolling round as is still sore. Other than that she's not doing too bad.

Me on the other hand I'm having trouble with the cleaning bit. She's got steri-strips underneath the ring and they are caked in blood. Looks terrible. Dont likke to press too hard cos it upsets her so much as it obviously hurts. Am a bit scared of pulling it back too much and puling the whole lot out. Am sure I will get use to doing it soon though.

Nothing really new with the actual feeding part. Did forget to take the clamp off before I flushed this morning and got covered in milk and water from the feed port. Wont be doing that again in a hurry.
