We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Therapy Issues - Surprise!

Bit of a rant.

Grayson is supposed to have weekly physio/ot sessions, we have only just managed to get a 6 week block after a 10 weeks gap.

Hubby takes him in today for his 3rd week, to find only his OT, she says our physio broke her wrist surfing and will be off at least 6/8 weeks with no replacement (great start) then she goes onto say she wont see Grayson till 18th June as she can't make next 2 weeks appointments and that will be his last booked session.

To top this all off they spent 30 mins today instead of 1 hour and because they have left it so long, he cries the whole time cause he is no longer use to it.

There is not a lot I can do apart from ring my Keyworker but less than 3 weeks ago in a TAC they assured regular sessions, typically nothing works and I feel so angry!!

Apologies but if I shout and scream to the hubby he gets upset so best to type to all you guys and girls.

Thanks for reading.

Angry Angry thats really rubbish!!!! how frustrating that there isnt anyone you can go to....how about the OTs head? or physios boss? who was in charge of the tac meating? i would express that he is not going to benefit from any of this unless it is on a regular schedule AS ARRANGED!!

Sorry theyre treating you like this Sad but we dont mind listenin to you rant, we all do it hehe

Hi been there done that! I would say - give them a rant! I've seen that showing that this is not good enough does get you somewhere (sometimes!!) - i would insist on talking to the heads of every and any dept.

we didnt get any ot input, until i requested it and then demanded it! so that's just the way the story goes... unfortunately...

well good luck Excercise

Thanks All, well news gets better OT left on Friday and they do not have a replacement, received a letter friday.

I have decided to not bother with phone calls as not much of a reply and write a letter to head of under 5's team and see how thats fairs, I did mention to our portage worker and she said letters are always best.

So cross fingers may get somewhere, luckily Grayson is improving a little but I think thats more cause of the 1 hour physio I do with him a day not their input.

Thanks for your support xx
