Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Social services assesment today
cheapsensorytoys
Well after all the comotion and fuss and the long awaited social services assesment we had it done today Smile
The social worker was in fact very nice and couldnt appolgise enough and explained how over worked the department was but she even said thats there fault not ours.
She took the full history about Euan and all the other family stuff and she agreed we needed help.

She is suggesting 2 nights and a few hours each week for direct payments and its going to a panel within the next 2-3 weeks to see what we can get.

She did seem genuine and hopefully she will get the ball rolling and hopefully get us the help we have had to fight for.

thats good news Daniel, glad they finally got ball rolling and hopefully you will get the hours she suggested as they usually err on side of caution when it comes to saying what they think you should get

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
