Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

definately get hold of microlax enema, everything else starts at the top and has to filter down....... this is a very short tube enema and doesnt cause discomfort. You can buy them at any chemist shop Smile

they will try lactulose, fybogel, all sorts of stuff and it will make the situation very disturbing with belly cramps etc. A short tube enema really is safe, painless, hygenic and gives relief where it is needed.
It's just one choice, you can give rasberry leaf tea (you brew it and cool it down) but that can take 12 hours or so as well.
Good luck, will a hot water bottle on her tummy offer some soothing?

How much movicol is she getting? It sounds as though she is still bunged up.

You can increase the movicol by one packet a day until you get a good result.

My son has been on movicol for a number of years and can be on anything between 1 and 6 a day.
