Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Escalating Obsessive Behaviour
cheapsensorytoys
I've noticed (would be hard not too!) that Noah's compulsive and obsessive behaviours have taken a turn for the worst.
For example we spent 40 mins this morning taking all the lightbulbs and light shades out and then putting them back in again Confused
He was not going to comply with anything I wanted him to do untill this urge was satisfied, also were back to obsessing over flushing toilets. If he see's one it HAS to be flushed which made a trip to the SLT entertaining as there are 4 on the way to her office!
I thought we had these under control and he hadnt insisted on them for while now.
Is it common for them to "go away" and then "come back" like this?

is noah stressing about something as its usually because he needs the comfort of the familiarity of his routine, sorry to say its unlikely the toilet thing will go away, Matt still wants to have a wee in every toilet we go to but at least now he only wants to use the disabled toilet since we got the radar key as its like u say in the hospital they are a few on every corridor!!! takes a long time to get anywhere so we had to arrive early for appointments and tell reception we needed to go down to the unit early so he could visit toilets on the way

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
