cheap sensory toys

Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

have always been lucky in that Bro in law will have matt for couple of hours at home while we go out and we make rule not to discuss any problems we just go 4 a pub meal (one that has no Children - learnt that the wrong way lol) and just relax and actually talk about nonsense. its hard in beginning but you start to look forward to it once you trust Children are in safe hands (can be done with direct payments or respite too) dont worry about dishes or washing just have u time

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

A big welcome to the forum.
Having a child with special needs can be very challenging and it sounds like you having a hard time at the moment and have very little support.
How much respite do you get now?
Are you a member of any local support groups?

I know it can be hard to believe but sometimes you need something or somebody who will give you a chance and enable you to enjoy life and here i and the other members will give you as much advice and support as possible to enable you to do this.

Shani my boys are 8 and 2 we have our down days with no overnight respite for the little one. We keep asking and we don't get it. We were told to take on more parental responsibilty which we are doing everything we can for the boys.
Daniel we are going to menorca fly out 5th June for 7 night.
