some of the main points found it difficult to share enjoyment limited eye contact very little spontaneous language is echolalic screams in responce to a pleasurable activity finds it difficult to make a request not have any means of making a preference did not nod or shake her head but was able to select colours by name very quickly difficult to engage with her in play smiles alot and is content does not direct smiles to anyone did not share or show parents any objects melissa did eat a little play-doh during the assessment - this made me laugh so so much at nursery she has been known to eat quiet unusual substances - this i didnt know and did make me laugh (as long as its not harming her), that girl acts like i never feed her unusal hand movements during the assessment, streaching her fingers wide open and did you know its not asd anymore its asc (condition) ive been told to use TEACCH and PECS, one worded books, speak slowly and keep a routine of words like more/help/again/stop sorry that was a mission thought i would pick out some key points might aswell of typed the whole thing up, need to start teaching her pecs and look into teacch as i dont know what this is, dont really know whereto get started with pecs or who to go about teaching her how to use them |

pecs is quite easy to start, you can either buy the pack or make your own as they can work out expensive, you just need to find pictures that have meaning for her and photo's work well here like her fave cup with the word drink written underneath it and different foods, ermm to say hello and other things, laminate them (if you have a laminator they are invaluable hehe) and stick velcro on back and get a board and put other side of velcro in lines on that then one extra row on bottom so they can move them to the bottom to make a sentence eventually
http://www.facebook.com/search/?q=autism...2037749167 some free pecs pics here dont know if your local library can get these http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2009/j...r-software corinne There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will.. So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future. |
