Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education,acess to services,respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

I know we likely wont qualify for much if anything at all due to my earnings but I wondered if anyone knows of a disabled student grant in Wales? My daughter will be 18 in November, is a wheelchair user and will hopefully be attending liverpool University from autumn 2011 for a 5 year course, she is already very well qualified and is currently doing home study courses covering equine science(advanced degree), humanities(OU Diploma) and spanish language(GCSE).
It seems that over here you have to be physically AND mentally disabled to qualify for any assistance from our wonderful education department at the welsh assembly, either that or to be studying your chosen subjects through the medium of welsh language!
