Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Hello Donna,
I found this:
People who may qualify for a mobility pass are

people registered as blind or partially sighted
deaf people who are registered with Social Services
people with a learning disability who are registered with Social Services
people with a disability, or injuries which have a substantial and long-term adverse effect on their ability to walk
people who have lost the use of both arms
people banned from driving because of a health problem
people without speech.

How to apply
You can download an application form at the bottom of this page and either post it to the address given, or take your completed form together with evidence of eligibility to First Point at Howden House.

Again they can assess your eligibility immediately and if you qualify can give you authorisation to take to the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive who will arrange for your permit to be sent out to you. For more information you can call Customer Services on (0114) 273 4908.

I think you should be fine as Motability has been granted so obviously there is a granted need.
The list above is more granted to the adult side of things but i really strongly believe you will be entitled to this.
Give that number a call and get the forms completed Smile

We have one for our son, he had to go for a medical and was awarded it straightaway.
We don't get a concession on our tickets though, wonder if we should?
