Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

How did it go last night then as you were still up at 1am?
Well last night he woke up once at about 2am but had some water then went back without too much fuss which was great as a couple of days ago he screamed for 2 hours straight, but he never got up until 9:30am this morningSmile
The only problem is his behaviour during the day has become worse he has been having more tantrums, throwing things, hitting himself, trying to hit me dad and his brother. He has dropped his nap he had in the day and cries and moans for longer periods in the day but maybe its because of the changes and he hates it when things change. But things should get better yesterday i received his first Speech therapy appointment for the 18th so things are looking upBig Grin

my oldest gets up through the night and i dont give him drinks through the night otherwise we get accidents on the sheets. there for my youngest is sleeping better with his bed next to mine. i refuse to put him into the same bedroom as his big brother as his big brother will attack if anything was to come and invade his space. tricky one. BUT we both are working hard on this (my hubby and i )

My little one sleeps in my room as well but because he wakes up screams and hurts himself if he shared a room with his brother he would never get any sleep. But if this sleep modification works out full time then i will get my room back one day.My son accepting water at night is also a big step as he was breastfed and refuses to give it up but over the past few weeks its got better. He is also still in nappies and because of his communication and understanding problems i dont think that he will be out of them for a while he doesnt let me know if he is wet i think he doesnt realise but he can't speak or doesn't point or try to get my attention for anything so when he learns some form of communication im sure potty training will come
