Very OT: But needed advice regarding teeth please :)
cheapsensorytoys
Hi all, hope you dont mind me posting here (as i need advice about my daughter teeth, and my daughter isnt disabled), but i find you girls offer great advice and may be able to help me..

Anyway i took both Children to the dentist today, 1st time for my DD whos just turned 2. Anyway the dentist women said my DD has two holes in 2of her top teeth (1hole in each big tooth next to her fangs)
Well the dentist said she would have to refer her to our local hospital to have gas & air (didnt explain why) and her dental nurse jumped in to say noo her daughters not old enough they need to be 3 not 2..
Dental nurse went to verify this and came bak and said yea she was to young and she would need to go to alderhay childrens hospital in liverpool as they obv have the equipment there.. (dont i know it.. had to go there often with our son Sad..hate it)

It obviusly worried me, esp as the dentist should have known my DD wasnt old enough to be transfered to local hosp conciderin she just asked how old she was... and the dentist didnt even try to explain why my DD needs to go to alderhay.. So when i asked she said ohh she will need to go get a GA and have the hole filled or her teeth taken out (ok i understand its not something major, but its horrible to know my baby will be put sleep why they do this and be in pain thereafter)

Dunno what advice im looking for realy.. but if anyones child has experiance anything similar and had to go for GA to have there teeth filled/removed etc.. could you possibly shed any light on how long she will be under for and if she will be aloud home the same day? Also was you allowed in the room why they filled/remove teeth etc?

Thanks

whenever matt has to have any work done he has always had to go to the hospital, not any other reason other than he wouldnt sit still while they are working on him (hard enough for me lol) most dentists nowadays dont do gas and air usually only private and mainly hospital nowadays so i would think that because your daughter is young they wouldnt give the injection in the mouth as this might frighten her and as there is a lot of messing around with fillings or removals she prob wouldnt sit still and could end up hurt

they are good at the hospitals, they sit them in the chair and talk to them and dont put the mask on their face if they are nervy (or they try and remove matts "security blanket" camera) they just wave it about in front of them so dont stand too close lol its strawberry scented i think its been a while. then after the work has been done they go to a different room for a lie down and you can take their teddy with them if they like that, then they should escort you to your car. if i was treated like that i wouldnt be petrified of dentists now lol

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
