Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Sensory hamper give away
cheapsensorytoys
As members will be aware we also run http://www.cheapdisabilityaids.co.uk
We mentioned the idea on the facebook page recently about giving away 3 sensory hampers to a charity chosen by members.
In order to do this we will need to set up a vote on this site so people can vote for a winner.

Firstly though its upto users to select those charities who will go through to the vote.

Nominations will be open for 1 week and then it will go to vote and the vote will be open for 2 weeks.

Also as an added bonus for every member who makes a nomination on this page and tells a freind about this page and there friend posts a nomination too they will also be entered into a draw and we will select one parent from this site who will also win 1 free extra special sensory hamper worth £28.99 simply for nominating a charity of there choice.

To qualify ask your freind to say you suggested they post.

Get your nominations in on this forum thread only as we cannot monitor voting from the facebook page.

Good luck

I would like to nominate a lovely charity called S.P.E.A.K. S.P.E.A.K was founded by 4 parents in 2007 and it's gone from strength to strength. They organise play events, short breaks, and coffee mornings for the parents of disabled children along with monthly meetings where there is usually a professional guest speaker. S.P.E.A.K only got charity status in June 2011 and I'm sure they'd very much appreciate the Sensory Hamper especially for the play sessions they organise on a regular basis which helps the children socialise with others like them.
