Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

rather than worry all through the holiday, when you get there just nip into the local specsavers or whatever they have there (say you were checking photo's while on holiday and were worried) and they will prob get an optician to at least have a quick look. mum had a lump on her eye that came up while we were away and she went to boots for some eye drops and they wouldnt sell her any (didnt even look at eye) but she went to opticians and they called one out who looked at her straight away and told her it wasnt anything to worry about as it wasnt painful and she could just see her regular optician when she got home or a doc if she didnt want to pay for a full examination (being a child should be free anyway)
have a nice hols

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

having seen the photo - i honestly think that is a normal 'red reflex' . If you shine light to the back of the retina then it shows up light pink like that. As i half mentioned on facebook, the worry with a white reflex is that there is a retinoblastoma ( tumour at the back of the eye) this tends to be in really young babes and generally will be seen on an MRI scan. I hope you've had chance to talk to your optician/gp though XXX
