surely the lease you sign with the council states that you are renting a property that is in a livable condition?? that window shows a lot of damp and that can get on your chest making you ill, you said that jack has a couple of chest infections a month and this could be why as bacteria can be building up in the wet rotten wood and one of the windows is broken isnt it? i would suggest as lea says and phone the environmental health as the council are having a laugh not fixing this, never mind putting double glazing in i thought all council houses had that done a lot of years ago they are on the new kitchens and bathrooms in last few years up here think your council need a kick up the butt.
corinne There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will.. So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future. |

I contacted Citizens Advice and she told me to go to Environmental health who would hurry up the process of having these repairs made. (She also told me, i wasnt eligable to pay my rent with the state the property was in as the landlord was breaching hes tenancy agreement). I still continued to pay my rent, and give the Landlord the benifit of the doubt and just made environmental health deal with him. (The landlord was given the lost of all jobs what needed doing and then gave him so long to do it, if he hadnt of done it he would have been took to court and been fined). If i was in your shoes, i would still continue to pay ur rent and contact environmental health first thing in the morning, tell them how the housing association has told you they are going to replace the windows but never been out to complete the job, and when you ring you get pushed from pilow to post and still dont get the job done. They will then come out to asses your home and write to ur local housing. (This will push ur local housing to come and complete the job quicker) |

i have been here a year on 23rd march
il definately ring enviromental health as im so fed up with the council so many thinks ive had to have replaced when moved in the whole kitchen plumbing had to be redone as last tenant botched it they wont give me a new kitchen the one i have is a nightmare, fair enough oak units but i have a tiny amount of useable work surfaces, 2 tiny round sinks, the washing machine has to be squeezed next to cooker an fridge otherside with big boiler above fridge. i called them out last year as the pipe from boiler was going out a little whole they had borded up near window not sealed or anything the guy said that the fumes were comming back in when windy etc they never plastered house so i had to get it all done myself as there way to solve massive holes the previous tenant left was to cut big chunks out plaster board an stick cement in after 3 months waiting for them come back sorted it myself god i sound so moany i should be happy to have a house
