Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Stick with it it may be hard at first but she will get used to it.
Or she may just suprise you Smile
Failing that you could put the babygate on the stairs and then the potty in your room for 3 am emergencies Smile

she came down to turn the living room lights on then went back up, i wish i could put a baby gate on the stairs, she can open the ones we have, the one in her room was broken so you had to climb over it dont fancy doing that ont he stairs, theres a toilet upstairs it just with her being used to using her potty at night, esp when she wakes up all tired hope she makes it haha, then ive got to start the whole thing over with bradley when hes older, i hated potty training, for some reason melissa was always fine at night, but during the day was a pain took a good year just to get her to use the potty in the living room, the re-teach her with pulling knickers up and down (started bare bum, then went to knickers which she wee'ed through) then moved onto the toilet, luckly all done just before she started school, whereever we go have to show her where the toilet is and she'll go herself, she never asks to go

do they still have those potties that you can take the top off and they fit on the toilet and the bottom becomes a step?? soz matts 16 now so dont know if they still around hehe, we used a commode as matt was older when toilet training so felt safer and looking more like a loo wasnt hard to change over to loo.

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
