Has anyone requested a statement yet? We put our son into the school nursery so that all that could be done. They requested it round about this time of year and it was done for July just in time for him to start in the September. I'd recommend getting it requested ASAP as you have more time to request changes and things before he starts so it's all ready. You can request for the process to be started yourself. You just need to send a request letter, theirs a standard copy of one on the site if you just use the search box you should find it Smile xxx

Of what i've heard the "statementing" of children is supposed to be starting to get withdrawn as
schools should make provisions themselves of what any child with additional needs may require
in school.. My son wasn't statemented and doubt he will now although he has got several diagnosis's Smile

I haven't heard that, where did you see it? Statementing a child is like a legal contract to provide support, without it the school don't legally have to provide support. School action etc are often tried first with some children but it's not legally binding like a statement is. We just had euans annual review and nothing was mentioned about the process changing xxx
