The gas saftey checks are for all appliances provided by a landlord, sounds like your council has side-stepped getting yours sorted and there are many solicitors who will get onto that one for you........ perhaps that will even help settle that heating bill!
I hate waiting for workmen but when they finally do arrive I hate that they are back and forth to their van leaving the house doors wide open. We had our gas meter moved as it was on the floor at the back of the understairs cupboard and I was unable to reach it or the gas tap in case of emergency and the workman was so upset when I asked him to keep the doors closed, so when he was half-in, half-out if the understairs cupboard I let the dogs in from the garden and I have never seen a big bloke move so fast!!
