Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Scott was admitted to hospital this week with breathing problems due to increased secretions. admissions are ALWAYS fun in the school holidays! he was on and off oxygen and nebulisers for 3 days before they decided to give IV antibiotics, which once in his system worked wonders. also on wednesday evening we had some late respite offered so my hubby and i could go out for the 1st time in 18 months,we booked a table, then 10 mins before respite showed up my daughter slipped backwards banging her head on the radiator knocking herself out.so our evening out was spent with hubby in a+e and me and respite nurse drinking hot chocolate! we brought scott home today, lets hope next weeks better!

hi,thanks for replies.
Scott is slowly improving,he should have stayed in a bit longer but i hate him being in there.antibiotics are producing some evil nappies though!lol
my daughter had concussion and proceeded to bang her head a further 3 times twice while visiting her brother at hospital!she is one of these Children who lands on her head everytime,a tomboy through and through.i am surprised she hasn't done more damage to herself.
as for evenings out the late respite was due to a cancellation so don't think we will get out anytime soon! does anyone else feel that your Children tag team you?!Blush
