Excuse my spellings lol.. Well after such a long drag and still no diagnosis and no contact from our paed in several months, Partner rang her receptionist to ask were our paed was upto regarding the referal for autism/dispraxia tests (Paed recently wrote to school and they wrote back before the schools broke up and we still havnt been informed about anything!!) Her receptionist told us nothing is showing on our notes as of yet, and she wont know were its all upto for a few weeks as our paed is on holiday (great!) Partner asked to speak to her boss, to see if we can get her to push the testings through.. Well anyway today partner had a voicemail on hes phone from the paeds boss saying.. 'Sorry you havnt had any contact from Dr .. Recently, however i have asked ur paed's receptionist to book you in with the earliest appointment to come and see me regarding your son and your concerns so a letter will soon be with you. Have any problems in the meantime or wish to speak to me on the phone please ring.. '! EeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkK So hopefully... We will get to meet the paeds boss soon, and fingers crossed she finealy puts the ball in motion. As we are desperate for answers so we can learn to deal with Samuels disabilitys (As he seems to be getting worse yet our help seems to be dissapearing..) Anyway just thought i would share.. Anythings you guys think i need to ask? etc when i do see the boss? to see if she can move things quicker? |

Good for you, sometimes you just have to keep pushing and ringing anyone who will listen to get things moving. I have noticed that most children's medical services are incredibly over-stretched which is not good.
I think we are lucky with our pediatrician as he always makes a follow up appointment for us at the end of each appointment, his secretary is a star too and always willing to help. You're one step closer to getting some answers, keep fighting for your little man. Louise Mum to Alexander (6) Friedreich's Ataxia and Hypertrophic Cardimyopathy |

Thanks Louise.
I actualy thought my paediatrition was great at first but how wrong was i? Last appointment it was just asthough she had lost all faith in even trying as the brain scan he recently had showed nothing but fluid causing hyperactive bursts, and she didnt know what to try next. I told her how i had concerns thinking it could be autism and she was like 'no! he has eye contact.. its not that' when in all honesty she shudnt have ruled it out as not all autistic children have no eye contact. and theres still other things hes symtoms lead to.. esp dispraxia which i realy believe he has!! Our paed normaly just says.. oh ill see you in 6months or so.. which last time she said 8months and weve heard nothing..! Nevermind tho hey, her receptionist is lovely and trys to help were possible but lets just hope her boss will give us the help we need.. x |
