Thank you all for your kind words.
The MRI did not show up anything of concern, Which to a certain degree is great news.
The consultant did say part of the problem is the physical help Samuel requires.
They are referring me to the chronic pain clinic for help. I am relieved but also scared.
My back problems are not going to magically go away. I am just going to have to learn to manage it better.
@slharris28, I demanded an appointment with orthopedics, if you ask your GP they have to refer you, they tried constantly giving me tablets but it got to the point where only tramadol eased the pain and i was/am scared off becoming addicted to them.
Thank you all for your concern xxx

My father in law attends the pain clinic for his back, he does have problems but surgery is a no-go because of where the damage is, so they give him an injection into the place where the pain is. He recently had acupuncture as well and that seemed to help more than the drugs. Hopefully you'll get seen soon.

I have to schedule a smear test next month so I'll ask about getting referred then, thanks.

Its funny because when results come back clear you are obviously happy but then concerned that they havent found whats causing the problem.
I was on tramodol for a while for my hips but they gave me terrible dreams and night sweats so now im on oramorph and oxycontin and co-codamal and had the injection which did nothing and the morphine drugs im on dont help either Sad
Its so frustrating not getting pain under control as it really can control every aspect of your life from what you want to do but cant do through to the tiredness and moodiness but then you cant help how you feel but its hard for people to understand that pain can run your whole life.
So what are they doing next to try and help you?

All they are going to do is send me to the chronic pain team, lets hope they are useful, having been on the waiting list with wheelchair services for 6months i have ended up purchasing my Samuel a wheelchair myself.
i really hope the pain can eventually be managed as it is really taking its toll and interferring with family life, monday to friday i am totally on my own with no family to support me. when the consultant said the MRI was clear i was so relieved but now i am back to being scared, i wish i knew for sure what is wrong then at least i would have a plan of action.
Enough self pity though i know thousands of children, including my own, is alot worse off than me.
Thank you for your support Heart
