Hi Becky,
Any child having an eye test is a nightmare.
Our littleboy has a condition called cystinosis which means his whole body is affected including his eyes.
His eyes develop crystals so he has to have very frequent eye tests and they have to look to the very back of the eye as well.
Euan is also being assessed for behavioural issues leaning towards the ASD side of things and i will be honest Euan having eye tests can vary on both sides of the scale, from one time being good to the next having none of it.
I would suppose it all comes down the the person doing the test.
If were talking about the snotty optician in the local optictian then you maybe in trouble.
Euan is luckily under an eye specialist in Birmingham Childrens hospital because of his eyes and his cystinosis so they are generally quite good with him.

just had a vision of my daughter in our local opticians - emptying off all the neatly lined up glasses and lining them up on the floor or just throwing them all over

how do you think they actually carry out the test if she cant really talk? hey they could let her match up cartoon characters. i have this idea in my head that they may take a piture of her eyes - like on that advert where there are two really big eyes as peoples heads and then two people has the body and they are dressed the same (i want to say specsavers but i could be wrong). i think say say something about new technology that can take a picture of the eye so they can montior the health of your eyes or something like that.
