I think its quite common for autistic children to have adhd aswell, i have known people get a diagnosis of adhd first and then autism aswell. I think the hyperactivity sticks out really but like you say, when matt was diagnosed there wasn't as much info, it really is more for peace of mind for us
i suppose it just gives us clarity that it isn't anything we are doing as parents. I know thats how they make me feel at time Oh did i tell you about the letter i got in the post from the nice DRAGON at the cdc? a photo copy of 'how to be a parent' - she may aswell just slap me round the face whilst shes there ![]() xx |

lol it kills me how these professionals think they can do the job better than us. we had a child in need meeting the other day and one of the things they put as high need was the risk he was in at home as we are unqualified parents hmmmmmmm i have only been looking after him for 17 yrs he has escaped from us three times, escaped from school about 4 times (not counting where he didnt get to school gates hehe) and three times at respite (once they had a call from local pub where he was sitting on pool table and they hadnt even realised he had left the unit) though that was previous respite when he was about 10) so going on those odds i think we are doing a better job than the "professionals" seeing as he is at home for more hours than anywhere else. so all in all i think the fact he happy and healthy means i doing pretty good
